OneDriveContent Sources and Storage
OneDrive Folders In, Processed Output Back
OneDrive is personal and team file storage in Microsoft 365, and much of what a team produces lives there before it lives anywhere else. With the OneDrive connector, AI Intelligence Hub pulls the folders you name on a schedule, indexes what is in them and holds it under retention and access control, and can place processed output back in a OneDrive folder where the team expects to find it. OneDrive stays the working space.
What you can do together
- Pull a team's OneDrive folder into the library on a schedule, limited to the folders and file types you choose, through AI Intelligence Hub.
- Have each recording transcribed and each document's text indexed as it lands, so a phrase is found by search and opened or played from that point.
- Ask a question across the folder and get an answer that cites its sources, retrieved under your own identity so nothing you cannot open is used.
- Run a workflow on publish, built on a visual canvas without code, and have its output placed back in OneDrive.
- Cover Teams recordings and SharePoint through the same Microsoft 365 integration, so one arrangement reaches the three places a Microsoft 365 team keeps its work.
How it connects
OneDrive is an ingestion connector, and part of the platform's Microsoft 365 integration alongside Teams recordings and SharePoint. Folders you choose are pulled on a schedule, and files and their metadata come inbound. The pull is scoped by an extension allowlist and excluded folders, the folder hierarchy is preserved or flattened as configured, and after a file lands the source is left in place, moved or deleted, as configured. Ingestion runs on the connector's schedule rather than on OneDrive events.
Under the same Microsoft 365 integration, OneDrive also serves as a destination, so processed output can land back in a folder the team already reads from.
What does not flow: OneDrive is not a storage provider, so the library's copy lives on the platform's own storage. OneDrive sharing settings do not carry across; who can open an ingested item is decided by the portal's own roles, applied inside every search and every answer.

A scenario
- SetupThe administrator adds the team's
Compliancefolder as an ingestion connector in AI Intelligence Hub: Word, PDF and video accepted, theWorkingfolder excluded, hierarchy preserved, source left in place, run every few hours. - 14:00An analyst saves a recorded training session and its slide deck to the folder. After the next run both are in the library, the session transcribed and the deck's text indexed.
- 14:30A workflow the team built runs on publish. It drafts a summary of the session and places it in the team's
Summariesfolder in OneDrive, where the analyst finds it without opening the portal. - Next weekAn internal auditor asks, "Which training covered the revised customer due diligence thresholds?" The answer cites the session and the moment; she opens the citation and plays from there. Retrieval ran under her identity, so folders she cannot see were never candidates.
- Year endA lifecycle policy soft-deletes superseded procedure drafts by the criteria the team defined, previewed before it runs, and the portal's retention period for deleted content governs how long they stay recoverable.
What stays where
OneDrive remains the working space
Staff keep saving and sharing there. The connector reads the folders you named and nothing else.
AI Intelligence Hub reads, and writes only where you point it
A source file is left, moved or deleted according to the post-ingestion action you set, and output goes to the folder you named. OneDrive sharing and ownership are not changed.
Nothing is replaced
The library holds a governed copy with its own access model, retention and search; OneDrive holds what it always held.
Processing runs where the platform runs
Transcription, indexing and the assistant run on the platform's infrastructure, as SaaS, in your own Azure subscription or on your own servers.
