Ambulatory Media Filed Where the Record Can Find It

This connector is not prebuilt. It would be built to your requirement on the REST API and ingestion path the platform already uses, and PHI handling would be scoped in the engagement rather than assumed. Veradigm, previously sold as Allscripts, is the ambulatory clinical and practice record for a large number of specialty groups. The name change matters here only because documentation, support contracts and API references are still split across both, and an engagement should expect that.

What you can do together

  • File a recorded consultation or procedure image against its encounter, retrievable from the clinical context.
  • Keep that media under retention and an access record rather than on a practice drive.
  • Run one narrow workflow unattended, which is what a specialty group can actually sustain.
  • Settle PHI terms and the deployment before anything is built.

How it connects

The ambulatory record would be read over the API, and the encounter identifier would arrive as an attribute on the media, so a recorded consultation, a consent conversation or a procedure image files against the encounter rather than into a folder named by date.

Specialty practice shapes what is worth building. The media that matters is usually narrow and repetitive, one or two types tied to one workflow, which means a small integration running unattended delivers more than a broad one nobody maintains. An engagement would identify that workflow first rather than mapping the whole record.

The connection carries the credential it is configured with, so what can be read is bounded by what that credential is granted, not by who is asking. PHI handling is settled before anything else: what may be read, what may be stored outside the record, how long it is kept, and where processing may run. Those answers determine the deployment, which for a practice group without its own infrastructure usually means dedicated SaaS on agreed terms.

How it works VeradigmClinical Systems (EHR)

A scenario

  1. ScopingThe engagement would identify the one workflow worth automating, and settle what may be read and stored, retention and where processing runs.
  2. SetupThe connection is configured once against the Veradigm API with the encounter mapped to an attribute, under a scoped credential.
  3. A visitThe consent recording files against the encounter under the library's access control and retention.
  4. UnattendedThe workflow runs without anyone tending it, which is the requirement.
  5. A queryA clinician or an administrator reaches the recording from the encounter instead of searching by date.

What stays where

Veradigm remains the ambulatory record

Scheduling, charting and billing stay there.

Scope is one workflow, not the whole record

A narrow integration that runs unattended is what a specialty group sustains.

The credential is the boundary

What can be read is what the configured credential is granted.

PHI handling is scoped, not assumed

What may be stored, for how long, and where processing runs are decided in the engagement.
