Live sessions are broadcast to the portal from an encoder, with the stream published through a configured streaming server and viewers watching in the same player as on-demand content.

A publishing point is where an encoder sends its stream. Points are created against a streaming server provider, and a persistent point gives an encoder a fixed destination rather than a new one per event.
