First Pass Over the Recordings, Not Just the Documents
Everlaw is a cloud litigation platform used by law firms and government legal teams, and its collections increasingly arrive with recorded interviews, body camera video and call audio in them. Everlaw runs an official MCP server, and AI Intelligence Hub connects to MCP servers as a client, so an agent works against case material with configuration rather than development. Everlaw stays the system of record for the case.
How it connects
Everlaw's MCP server is reached as a client. The connection is configured once with a name, the server URL, the transport and the HTTP headers that carry its credential. The server's tool list is fetched when the connection binds rather than coded in, so a tool added later is usable without reconfiguration. A workflow runs one named tool through an MCP node with arguments fixed at design time; an agent is handed the list and chooses as it works. Where a step needs something the server does not expose, the HTTP Request node calls Everlaw's own API.
The connection carries the credential it is configured with, so what it can search or retrieve is bounded by what that credential is granted in Everlaw. Where the same question also reaches transcripts and media held in the library, that retrieval runs under the asking user's identity with their access list applied as a pre-filter, so nothing they could not open becomes a candidate.
Transferring media and its metadata into a case so multimedia is processed and redacted before review is scoped per engagement against the published APIs, not prebuilt.
What you can do together
- Transcribe and redact recorded interviews and call audio in Redactor and the library before they reach reviewers, so personal data is handled once rather than case by case.
- Run a first pass over the transcripts in a workflow that surfaces responsive passages and flags likely privilege, leaving the judgement to a lawyer.
- Ask one question across the Everlaw case and the recordings in the library, and get an answer citing both.
- Have a workflow assemble what relates to a legal hold, with a person approving before anything is acted on.
A scenario
- SetupAn administrator adds Everlaw's MCP server with a credential scoped to that case. The tool list appears without development.
- PreparationThe interviews are transcribed in the library, and faces and personal data that must not reach reviewers are redacted in Redactor.
- First passA workflow reads the transcripts against the agreed search terms, marks passages for review and flags privilege candidates. Each remains a suggestion.
- In EverlawReviewers work the case as usual, with the transcript available beside the documents rather than as a separate exercise.
- A question late in the dayCounsel asks what a named witness said about a date. The agent reads the case through Everlaw's server and the transcript from the library, and cites the moment in the recording.
What stays where
Everlaw remains the case system
Projects, coding, holds and the review record stay there, and reviewers' work is unchanged.
The credential is the boundary on the Everlaw side
What the connection reaches is what its configured credential is granted, so scoping it per case is the control.
Media governance stays in the library
Transcripts, redactions, retention and the custody record live in the platform, and retrieval from it runs as the asking user.
Processing runs where you deploy the platform
Shared or dedicated SaaS, your own cloud subscription, or your own servers. Reaching Everlaw's hosted server needs a network path to it.
