Watch Every Avigilon Feed, Keep What Matters as Evidence
An Avigilon VMS such as Avigilon Unity Video records every camera on site and is where security staff look back. AI Live Insight reads the same streams and watches all of them at once, raising an alert the moment a rule fires. The clip around each event lands in Nexus, AI Intelligence Hub answers questions over those clips, and Redactor blurs faces and plates before a copy leaves the building. Avigilon stays the VMS.
What you can do together
- Watch every Avigilon feed for people, vehicles, weapons, license plates, fire, and PPE or its absence, with zone rules for loitering, intrusion, line crossing, crowd count and direction of travel, through AI Live Insight.
- Get an alert with a snapshot by email or webhook the moment a rule fires, and keep the seconds around it with event-driven recording.
- Hold the clips in Nexus with a SHA-384 integrity hash, a chain-of-custody log and a retention schedule, and ask AI Intelligence Hub which clips show what, each answer cited.
- Release a copy with Redactor blurring bystanders' faces and plates, a code on each redaction recording why, and the original left in the library.
How it connects
AI Live Insight connects over RTSP. Each camera is added with the address, port, stream path and credentials of the stream the VMS republishes for it, or of the camera itself where it is reachable directly. The H.264 or H.265 bitstream is read as emitted, codec detected per source.
Only the live stream flows, one way. Detections become a timed metadata track beside each recorded segment, and the clip around an event is filed in the library under one Recording Folder, with the library's access control, retention and chain of custody. Classes, thresholds, zone rules and clip length are set per camera in the portal.
There is no pull from the Avigilon archive. Footage already in the VMS reaches Nexus by export and upload, not through an API. Camera control, the VMS's own bookmarks and analytics, and its user management stay with Avigilon.
A scenario
- 02:15, ambulance bay cameraA person has stood in the zone drawn across the bay past the dwell threshold. AI Live Insight raises a Medium loitering alert and emails the security desk a snapshot. Event-driven recording keeps the seconds before and after.
- 02:17The officer on duty opens the alert, watches the clip, acknowledges it and walks over. The alert now reads Acknowledged with his name against it.
- 02:48, parking structure, level 2A knife is detected in a man's hand. The High alert moves the count on the Operator Dashboard, the clip lands in Nexus, and the desk calls the city's police department.
- Next morningThe security manager resolves both alerts with a note each, then asks AI Intelligence Hub for every level 2 clip between 02:30 and 03:00 and gets a cited list.
- Same dayDetectives want the whole hour. She exports it from the VMS and uploads it to Nexus beside the clips, where it takes its own hash and chain-of-custody log.
- Two weeks laterCounsel requests the ambulance bay footage. Redactor blurs the faces of two patients and a paramedic, records a code on each redaction and exports the copy. The original stays untouched.
What stays where
Avigilon remains the VMS
It records every camera, manages them and manages users. AI Live Insight reads the stream beside it. Nothing is replaced.
No API into the archive
VIDIZMO products read live streams only. Footage exported from the VMS and uploaded to Nexus then sits under the same retention and chain of custody.
Processing near the cameras
A GPU server on site runs detection and recording, so alerts do not depend on an internet link. The library, the assistant and redaction run there too, in your own cloud, or air-gapped with self-hosted models.
Two orders, one setup
Cameras and the VMS come from your Avigilon dealer. VIDIZMO licenses its software separately, and adding a camera is configuration rather than a project.
Products and solutions
- AI Live Insight connects the streams; its clips land in Nexus, where AI Intelligence Hub and Redactor work on them
- AI Video Analytics, Safety and Compliance Monitoring, School and Campus Safety and License Plate Recognition
- Digital Evidence Management and Corporate Investigations
