Fall and Room-Exit Alerts in Patient Rooms: Product Demo

A night on a med-surg unit: a patient on the floor and a patient leaving the room, flagged live on existing cameras, nurses paged and every alert on record.

2:03 · Product demo · AI Live Insight, Redactor

A med-surg unit at night: 28 rooms, 4 nurses, one hallway. This demo shows AI Live Insight running two rules on the patient-room cameras the hospital already has: a person on the floor anywhere in the room, and a line crossing at the room door in the outward direction. Each alert reaches the nurses’ station dashboard with the clip attached, pages staff by webhook, and is acknowledged and resolved with a required note.

When footage has to be shared, Redactor removes the patient’s face from a reviewed copy while the original stays inside. Analytics run on the hospital’s own servers over RTSP and ONVIF with no new hardware, and VIDIZMO supports HIPAA obligations with a BAA available. It is another set of eyes on every camera room: it does not measure a patient’s condition or replace a sitter. Built for nursing, patient safety and hospital security leaders. Transcript

Just after 2:00 in the morning on 4 West, 28 rooms, 4 nurses, and 1 hallway. Here's how Nora, the night charge nurse, covers the unit. Some rooms on the unit already have cameras. AI Live Insight reads those streams over RTSP and ONVIF, so nothing new goes on the wall. Nora's team sets two rules for each of those rooms: a person on the floor and a line at the door that fires when someone walks out. In room 412, a patient gets up alone and falls beside the bed.

The camera flags a person on the floor with the clip attached. The alert reaches the nurses’ station dashboard and paging at the same time. Nora heads straight to room 412. 20 minutes later, a patient in room 418 walks out of his room. The door rule fires, and a nurse walks him back. Each alert is acknowledged and resolved by name with a note and saved with its clip for the fall review. It doesn't measure a patient's condition, and it doesn't replace a sitter.

It gives the unit another set of eyes and a record of every response. When the fall review needs the footage, Redactor blurs the patient's face before it leaves the unit. It runs on the hospital's own servers, and a BAA is available. Another set of eyes on every room. Request a demo at vidizmo.ai.
