Architecture
- Azure Site Recovery for failover, Azure Traffic Manager for DNS-based routing
- Geo-Redundant Storage (3 primary and 3 secondary storage servers), with Zone-Redundant Storage available as an alternative
- Auto-scaling via Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets
- Automated backup of VOD content, with optional daily backups retained for 30 days
- Data replicated across multiple Azure regions, with VMs physically separated across geo-redundant zones
Testing & Availability
- Semi-annual disaster recovery testing
- 99.9% uptime SLA, measured monthly
- Scheduled maintenance requires 48-hour advance notice and runs during non-peak hours; designed to never impact video playback
Scope & Limitations
For on-premises deployments, disaster recovery and backup are the customer’s responsibility. VIDIZMO provides guidance on redundant hardware, failover, and SQL Server clustering, but does not operate DR for on-premises environments.
