ServiceNow

Put an agent on the service desk queue. Visit website

ServiceNow runs IT and enterprise service management: incidents, service requests, changes, and the configuration management database behind them.

Through its official MCP server and REST API an agent triages a queue, classifies and routes a new ticket, answers it from how similar ones were resolved, and drafts the change record. It reads the CMDB to know what an affected service depends on before recommending anything. Where a step writes back or sends something, a human-in-the-loop node puts a person in front of it first.

Tickets Answered From the Recordings You Already Have

Open as a two-page brief

ServiceNow runs IT and enterprise service management: incidents, service requests, changes and the configuration management database behind them. Connect it and AI Intelligence Hub works the queue from inside it, reading a ticket, finding the answer in the training videos, meeting recordings and documents the library holds, and drafting the reply with a person approving before it is written back. ServiceNow stays the system of record, and its own permissions decide what the connection returns.

How it connects

ServiceNow publishes an official MCP server, and AI Intelligence Hub connects to it as an MCP client with configuration only. The server is configured once with a name, its URL, the transport and the headers that carry its credential, and its tools are discovered when the connection is bound. In a workflow, an MCP node runs one named tool with arguments fixed at design time. For an agent, an MCP tool hands over the server's tool list, and the agent chooses a tool and fills the arguments as it works. The connection carries the credential it is configured with, so what an agent can read in ServiceNow is bounded by what that credential is granted there. Retrieval from the library alongside it still runs under the asking user's own identity.

Where a step needs something the MCP server does not expose, the HTTP Request node calls the ServiceNow REST API. In the other direction, the platform's REST API and a workflow's HTTP trigger are the inbound paths, so a ServiceNow flow can start a workflow when a ticket arrives. API calls carry the caller's own rights and nothing more.

Tickets, changes and the CMDB stay in ServiceNow and are read at query time. Nothing is copied into the library.

What you can do together

  • Triage a queue with AI Intelligence Hub: classify and route a new ticket in a workflow, with an approval node before it is assigned or updated.
  • Answer a ticket from how similar ones were resolved and from the recordings and documents in the library, with a citation, shown to the analyst before it goes back.
  • Read the CMDB for what an affected service depends on before a recommendation is made.
  • Draft a change record from the ticket and the runbook the library holds, with a person approving before it is created.

A scenario

  1. 07:50A ticket arrives: the link to Tuesday's lab safety training recording no longer works. A ServiceNow flow calls the workflow's HTTP trigger with the ticket number, and AI Intelligence Hub reads the ticket through the ServiceNow MCP server and classifies it as a content access request.
  2. Same minuteThe workflow searches Nexus for the recording and for the document on requesting access to course recordings, and drafts a reply with the current link and a citation to the document.
  3. 08:05The reply waits at an approval node. The analyst edits one line and approves, and the reply is written back to the ticket through the same connection.
  4. 10:30A second ticket reports that the live stream from Lecture Hall B failed. Before recommending anything, the assistant reads the CMDB through the ServiceNow server for what the hall's stream depends on and puts that beside the incident.
  5. Next dayThe service desk manager asks for a change record drafted from the incident and the streaming runbook in the library. The assistant drafts it, shows an editable preview, and creates the record only after the manager approves.

What stays where

ServiceNow remains the system of record

Incidents, requests, changes and the CMDB stay in ServiceNow, and its own permissions decide what a query returns. AI Intelligence Hub reads through the MCP server and the REST API, and writes back only where a workflow is built to and a person has approved.

The recordings and documents stay in the library

Lecture captures, training videos and runbooks sit in Nexus under role-based access, audit logs and retention. Retrieval runs under the asking user's identity, so an answer cannot draw on material that user could not open.

Nothing is replaced

ServiceNow keeps its queues, assignment rules, SLAs and reporting. The platform adds an assistant that reads them.

Processing runs where you deploy the platform

Shared or dedicated SaaS, your own cloud, or on premises, with models that can be self-hosted. Reaching your instance's MCP server needs a network path to it.

If the system publishes a Model Context Protocol server, AI Intelligence Hub connects to it as a client with configuration alone.
