Understanding Transcription Templates in VIDIZMO

A Transcription Pane in VIDIZMO offers you a chronological list of closed captions against the video. These captions are linked with the point in the video where they were used/spoken about. This ensures a smoother user experience with greater meaningful insights about the content, enhancing user interest and engagement.

The transcription pane also allows users to export the transcript file. To set up the attributes of the media file to be included in the exported file, VIDIZMO provides transcription templates and a rich WYSIWYG editor to let the users edit the transcription templates and export the transcript the way how they want it. In this article, we will discuss the transcription templates provided in VIDIZMO.

Concept

The transcription templates are useful when a user wants to export the transcription. Exporting a transcript gives you a readable file that can be used for documentation, sharing, or printing purposes. When a transcript is exported, it does not only include the transcribed text from the media but also the attributes of the media such as speaker tags, translation, and other insights. With templates, you can include or exclude those attributes.

To see the transcription templates in VIDIZMO, go to VIDIZMO app > navigation menu > Portal Settings > Library > Transcription Templates. Here, the default transcription templates are available. VIDIZMO allows customization of the templates so that you can personalize the transcript.

When a user creates a template in a portal, it is available for all the users of that portal. Transcription templates can also be edited from the export transcription popup i.e. when you download the transcript.
